Day 19: Thagnak-Gokyo-Gokyo Ri-Gokyo

To me, the Gokyo valley is the most beautiful part of the Khumbu area. Both the various glacier lakes and the views from the hills surrounding it are gorgeous. From here you are more far away from Mount Everest than from Kala Patthar, but the view is much more balanced. The light on Gokyo Ri is best in the evenings, where the perfect time would be at full moon (which we missed by two days) where the moon rises in the same moment as the sun sets.
